Check out the "pump and run" competition on the website. Men much bench press 70% of their body weight and women must press 50% of their weight. For each repetition, you get 10 seconds deducted off your 5K time. Interesting concept.

The Town Recreation Dept has been working hard clearing the brush back along the path and it's really shaping up nicely. Have biked the trail many times now, but have not run the trail yet. Anybody run it? I was a little worried about cyclists not paying attention...

The Striders do not currently have a marathon training group. The only marathon training group that I know of in the area if the Fleet Feet group. They usually run from the Fleet Feet store on Delaware Ave. in Buffalo on Sunday mornings at 8 am. They have varying routes from 8 - 20 miles. You can call the store for more details.

Otherwise, there are always informal groups at Chestnut Ridge Park on Sat and Sun mornings @ 8 am, and/or the Amherst bike path near UB.

MUCH simpler to view and use. This Strider appreciates that you "dumbed it down."

Bill Rodgers is truly a humble and personable guy. He wanted to hear about our running more than talk about his own accomplishments. This was an experience to remember.
